Finding your seed
Run seed in the server console, or /seed in game as an operator. On Kiphost you can run it from the Console tab. The seed is also the level-seed in server.properties if one was set before the world was made.
You can paste a text seed too. The game turns text into a number the same way this tool does.
How slimes spawn
- In a slime chunk, slimes can spawn below Y 40 at any light level, on any solid block.
- They also spawn in swamps at night, regardless of chunk, between Y 51 and 69.
- The chunk only needs to be loaded with a player within 128 blocks, and at least 24 blocks away from the spawn point.
For a slime farm, dig out a large room below Y 40 across one or more slime chunks, light up the caves around it so nothing else spawns, and wait nearby.
Java only
This uses the Java Edition formula, which has stayed the same for years. Bedrock decides slime chunks differently and ignores the seed, so the map won't match a Bedrock world.
