Terms of service

Plain rules for a free, experimental service. Please read the first section even if you skip the rest.

Kiphost is an experiment

Kiphost is an experimental project by HEO Systems. We're testing whether we can build our own front end and services on top of backend systems we didn't develop ourselves, such as Calagopus and Blesta.

Don't expect the data safety, uptime or performance you may know from other HEO Systems services. Kiphost can lose data, change, or be switched off.

You are responsible for your data. Always keep a copy of your world and files on your own computer. See Back up your Minecraft world for how. A built-in Google Drive backup is planned but not available yet. Until it is, a local copy is the only backup.

Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you use kiphost.pro or a server hosted by Kiphost. By logging in, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Kiphost.

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to use Discord where you live. If you're under 18, check with a parent or guardian first.

Every Kiphost server runs Minecraft server software, so you also agree to the Minecraft End User License Agreement and Mojang's usage guidelines. That includes their rules about charging players money.

The service

Kiphost gives each person one free Minecraft Java server. The current resources and time limits are listed on the FAQ and your dashboard. We can change them at any time, including for servers that already exist.

Servers start with a limited amount of time and can be given more by watching rewarded ads. When a server runs out of time it stops, and it's deleted 7 days later along with all of its files. Servers also nap when nobody is online.

We may move servers between machines, restart them for maintenance, or put new servers in a queue when we're full.

What you can't do

  • Attack, scan or overload other servers, networks or people, including denial of service attacks.
  • Mine cryptocurrency or run anything that isn't a Minecraft server and its plugins.
  • Host or share illegal content, malware, phishing pages or other people's private information.
  • Use the server as a proxy, VPN or file host.
  • Make more than one account or use bots to get more servers or more time than the limits allow.
  • Fake ad views, or try to get rewards without watching ads.
  • Try to get into other people's servers or the machines Kiphost runs on.
  • Harass, threaten or exploit other players, especially children.

If we think a server breaks these rules, we can stop or delete it and ban the account without warning. Serious cases may be reported to the authorities.

Your content

Your worlds, builds and files are yours. You give us only the permission we need to store and run them for you. You're responsible for what you upload, including making sure you're allowed to use any plugins, worlds or other files you add.

No guarantees

Kiphost is provided free, as it is and as available. We don't promise it will be online, fast, secure or free of errors, or that your data will be kept safe. We can change or stop the service, in part or completely, at any time.

As far as the law allows, HEO Systems is not liable for any lost data, lost worlds, lost time or other loss that comes from using Kiphost or not being able to use it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Ending your use

You can stop using Kiphost at any time by deleting your server. To delete your account too, see the privacy policy. We can close accounts that break these terms or that we have to close for legal reasons.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using Kiphost after a change means you accept it. Questions go to the address on the contact page.
